Stucco Installation

Traditional stucco is built in layers. A weather barrier and metal lath go on first, then a scratch coat, a brown coat and a finish coat, each given time to cure. Done properly, stucco forms a hard, continuous shell that sheds water, resists fire and can last for generations.

We install stucco over wood frame, block and masonry, in smooth, sand, lace, dash and other textures, with integral or painted color, control joints in the right places and flashing and weep screeds at the base. Around Nashville, stucco shows up on Mediterranean, Tudor and modern designs, and we make sure the details, not just the surface, are right.

FAQ

Common questions about stucco installation

How long does stucco take to install?

A traditional three-coat system needs days between coats to cure, so it is a multi-week process for a whole house.

Does stucco crack?

Hairline cracks can occur as it cures, and control joints, proper lath and curing reduce them.

Can stucco be colored?

Yes. Color can be mixed into the finish coat or applied as paint.
