Parging & Foundation Coating

Exposed block and rough concrete foundations look unfinished and let water in. Parging is a thin cement-based coat troweled onto the wall that evens the surface, covers joints and gives a clean look, and when combined with a waterproof coating below grade it also helps protect the wall.

We prepare the surface, repair cracks and holes, apply the parge coat in layers, texture it to match the house and coat below-grade areas with a waterproofing product when the wall needs it. Across Nashville, where many new homes have exposed foundation blocks and older ones have crumbling parging, a fresh coat brings the whole base of the house back.

What is parging?

Can parging be painted?

Yes. Once cured, it takes masonry paint well.

Does parging stop leaks?

Parging alone does not waterproof a wall. Waterproof coatings and drainage do that, and we combine them where needed.
