Masonry Waterproofing & Sealing

Sealer is the last step, not the first. If water is getting into a wall through failed joints, open flashing or a cracked crown, a coating will only trap it. We find and fix the entry points, then apply a breathable repellent that keeps rain out while letting vapor out.

We choose products for the material: silane and siloxane repellents for brick and stone, elastomeric coatings for stucco and block and waterproof membranes for below-grade walls. In Nashville's wet springs and freeze-thaw winters, sealing the right surfaces at the right time can reduce staining, flaking and efflorescence, and we tell you honestly when a surface does not need it.

FAQ

Common questions about waterproofing & sealing

Should I seal my brick?

Often not unless there is a problem. Sound brick breathes and sheds water on its own, so we look first.

How long does sealer last?

That depends on the product and the exposure. We tell you what to expect for the product we use.

Can sealer stop a leak?

Sealer can reduce water absorption, but it does not fix a hole or failed joint. We repair those first.
