Good brick work is mostly patience. Every course is set to a string line, every head and bed joint is filled and every wall is checked for level and plumb as it rises, because small errors at the bottom become large ones at the top. We lay clay brick for new construction, additions, garden walls, planters, mailboxes and fireplaces across Middle Tennessee.
Brick choice matters as much as the laying. We help you compare color, texture, size and bond pattern, build a sample panel when the match is critical and blend units from several pallets so the finished wall looks even in the Nashville light. Mortar color and joint profile are chosen to suit the brick, and ties, flashing and weep holes are planned from the start so water has a way out.
What you get
Every course is held to a string line and checked for level and plumb.
Head and bed joints are filled and tooled to shed water.
Units from several pallets are mixed so color reads evenly.
Ties, flashing, weep holes and expansion joints are part of the build.
The process
We confirm brick, bond, mortar color and layout, and build a sample panel when it helps.
We set the base course, run the string line and lay each course to level and plumb.
We tool the joints at the right time, clean the face and review the wall with you.
FAQ
Often yes. We compare size, color and texture, check salvage and special-order options and build a sample so you can see the match before we start.
Running bond is the most common, and we also lay stack, Flemish, English and decorative patterns where the design calls for them.
Water is expected to get into brick, so we plan flashing, weep holes and a clear cavity that lets it out again.
