Stone Veneer Installation

Stone veneer changes the whole character of a house, and the details behind it make it last. We prepare the wall with a weather barrier, flashing and a metal lath scratch coat, then set each piece in mortar with joints that look natural and shed water. The base is kept clear of soil so moisture does not wick into the wall.

We install ledgestone, stacked stone, river rock, fieldstone and cut stone, in natural or manufactured form, on whole walls or as an accent around doors, columns, fireplaces and foundations. Pieces are blended from several boxes so color and size look random, and corners are built with returns that look like solid stone from every angle.

Common questions about stone veneer

Is natural stone better than manufactured stone?

Each has a place. Natural stone is real and varied, while manufactured stone is lighter and more uniform. We show you samples and explain the trade-offs.

Can stone go over brick or siding?

Sometimes, with the right preparation. We check what is behind the surface and tell you what is needed.

How high above the ground should stone start?

Stone should stay clear of soil and mulch, with a gap that lets the wall dry. We plan the base height before we start.
